I have been on my manifesting journey for about seven months now, and I have taken in a tremendous amount of information and education from many different sources.  I have found that it is easy to get lost in too much advice from too many sources.  I had a very timely reminder of that this morning.

Months ago, I had constructed a reminder sheet from something I read: “There are no rules!  I make my life!”  I have been reading this sheet, along with many others, twice daily ever since, and thinking I believed it.  If I have truly learned anything on this journey, it is that our beliefs are very subtle, and we can easily fool ourselves.

I have been struggling lately with all the different viewpoints and ideas on how to manifest the life you want.  Every different teacher seems to have their system all worked out, but many of their recommendations simply do not resonate with my heart, so I question it all, trying to identify the nuggets of truth for me.  Several times in this quest, the universe has provided answers when I least expected them.

Yesterday, Mary Morrissey (http://www.marymorrissey.com/) asked me (not me alone, but everyone on her mailing list) to submit a question she could answer on an upcoming free seminar.  I asked for her opinion on the seeming conflict between those teachers that tell you to “not worry about the how” when attracting the life you want, and those who immediately tell you to start making plans and setting goals.  The real thoughts and emotions behind this question for me were my own doubts and fears regarding achieving what I am working towards.  I realize now that I was masking these by focusing on what the right technique was.

This morning, my Six Minutes To Success session with Bob Proctor (http://www.sixminutestosuccess.com/) had to do with limiting beliefs.  Bob challenged me to list some beliefs that I had that were holding me back, then decide what I would do today to overcome them.  In thinking about this, I realized that I was allowing my search for rules to limit me.  I had forgotten the mantra that I had been studying for months!

As I was pondering this, I listened to Mary’s One Minute message for today, which reinforced for me that wherever I am, in whatever circumstances, my spirit is present and I am home.  In the current context, the message I received from that is that I am not dependent on what other people think I should do.  I do make my own rules!

Finally, I read a message that I received this morning from Veronica Hay, a wonderful inspirational writer.  Her latest blog post (http://www.inspirationalwords.org/passion-purpose-legacy/#more-2695) is about purpose, and it included this passage:

“Purpose is much bigger than goals, yet we are advised in many of the self help and productivity books to set goals.  However, if you are aligned with your purpose, the goals just fall into place.”

For me, this past couple of hours has been wondrous.  No, I am not where I see myself being yet in terms of circumstances, but once again, God’s universe has reinforced my belief that I can get there.  My purpose is to help people live more spiritually, more consciously, and more abundantly.  The goals I already have are the natural result of that purpose, and as long as I am true to that purpose, those goals will be attained, in whatever way they happen.

This is working for me, and it can work for you, too.

Note: The teachers I have highlighted above are all great sources of knowledge and enlightenment, and I recommend them highly.  I am currently not affiliated financially with any of these people, so if you click on these links, I do not receive any commission.  I am just beginning to put together an affiliate marketing program, and at some point in the future, I may receive commissions from these and other partners, which I will always clearly disclose.
