Humanity’s Team began in 2003 “as a vision of a world free of oppressive beliefs about God, life and each other so that we can truly experience unity and oneness.” It became a nonprofit organization in 2004, and has since evolved into an active, coordinated movement, with uniform and unifying programs worldwide that allow for community and cultural differences. I wanted to share some thoughts about Christmas with you today.
In the last several years, many members of Christian religious denominations have decried the commercialization and secularization of Christmas, what they see as the mass forgetting that the holiday is first and foremost a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
If you have read my recent book sharing my spiritual philosophy, you know that I do not adhere to any organized religion, and that I do not refer to myself as a “Christian.” However, I do have a tremendous regard for all the great spiritual teachers, including the person we know from history as Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus Christ. Like most folks, I get a lot of things forwarded to me in e-mail from friends, clients and colleagues. As a rule, I do not forward anything on to any substantial portion of my address book, especially humorous messages, just because all of us get way too much e-mail.
